During the winter of 2016-2017 I lived in The London Borough of Islington near Angle Station. I was studying out of the FSU campus located by the Tottenham Court Road Tube Station. This post will be more about some specific places I traveled to opposed to my own life while living there.

My class was related to Computer Programming so we took a trip to Bletchley Park which not only had an amazing history of women who were able to work in a time where it was extremely nonstandard for women to be respected workers, but also is extremely pertinent to the history of WWII. The photo to the left is me and my friends at the mansion that still stands at the Bletchley estate.

Stonehenge has been a place that peaked my interest ever since I learned about it in Elementary School and I was able to cross this destination off my bucket list! The tour company I went with left from Trafalgar Square, the geographic center of London, and took a hour and a half long bus ride to Stonehenge.  I recommend bringing very warm clothes, hats and gloves if you’re traveling here in the winter but I would have to insist on going here if possible as it is a place of both history and mystery as they still don’t know why it was built.

We also took a day-trip to Oxford, England. The house pictured here is located by the Natural History Museum (which we also toured) and is known as “The Hobbit House”.

Before class every day some friends and I would travel to a destination. One bright and sunny morning we walked along the river from The Tower of London up to the London Eye. This walk is not only doable but also rather enjoyable as there is so much happening and so much to take in.

We also went to the Natural History Museum in London. It was being renovated while we were visiting so some exhibits were closed but nonetheless there was an insane amount of artifacts to see and one can easily spend a couple full days there.

Thanks for reading about my time spent studying abroad!
